There's probiotics in the supplement I put in my smoothies, is it ok to take that in the run up to my test?
It's best to avoid any supplemental probiotics for 3 days before your Gut Health Test, and 48 hours before your SIBO Test.
We recommend avoiding any supplemental probiotics for this short time. A high amount of probiotics can affect the results of both these tests.
For any of our Gut Health Tests, you should stop taking probiotics 3 days before taking the test. Digestive enzymes are unlikely to affect the results.
For our SIBO test, if you’re currently taking antibiotics or herbal antimicrobials, wait 4 weeks after finishing the course of treatment before taking the test.
We recommend avoiding taking probiotics for 48 hours before taking the SIBO test. Digestive enzymes are unlikely to affect the results.
