There's probiotics in the supplement I put in my smoothies, is it ok to take that in the run up to my test?
It's best to avoid any supplemental probiotics for 14 days before your Gut Health Test, and 48 hours before your SIBO Test.
To ensure the most accurate results, it’s important to pause certain supplements before testing.
For all Gut Health and SIBO Tests:
-
If you’re currently taking antibiotics or herbal antimicrobials, wait 4 weeks after finishing them before doing the test.
Specifically for Gut Health Tests:
-
Stop taking probiotics at least 14 days before your test.
-
Avoid digestive enzymes for 1–2 days beforehand.
For the SIBO Test:
-
Avoid probiotics for 48 hours before testing.
-
Digestive enzymes are generally fine to continue, as they are unlikely to impact your results.
