I used one of my small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) test tubes to practice, is the tube contaminated now, or can you still use the sample?

If you used the tube you practiced on for one of the first samples, you don't need to worry.

In the SIBO breath test, our lab partners look for increases in hydrogen and methane levels between 90 and 120 minutes.

The first 3 readings (fasting, 30 and 50 minutes) are really just to establish a baseline level of gas production. If one is missing the other two provide the same information.

If the tube you used was one of the first samples, you don't need to do anything. However if you used the tube for a later sample, it would be better to use a new tube. Ask customer services to send you out a new kit.
