I have burps that feel like they are burning my nose. What’s going on?
Burning sensations are usually related to stomach acidity, or acid reflux.
This can happen after every meal, and especially with large meals. Certain foods can reduce the integrity of the muscle at the bottom of your oesophagus, which can influence whether your stomach acid stays where it should be.
If your lower oesophageal sphincter is too loose, stomach acid can start to creep up.
The most common culprits are citrus foods and coffee. Peppermint oil can be an issue for some.
