1x test instructions
1x cardboard urine collection cup

1x pipette
1x biohazard bag with absorbent pad
1x urine sample tube

Taking the test

Before taking your sample, please ensure you have read the 'Preparing for your test' section at the top of this page, and check you have all the test kit contents using the checklist above.

1. Get your test kit ready.

Peel off the label provided with your name and date of birth, then apply to the urine sample tube. Fill out the patient request form with the sample collection date.

2. Use the toilet.

Assemble the cardboard urine collection cup by pushing gently on the sides to expand the cup. Collect your first morning urine into the collection pot.

If possible perform a mid-stream catch (begin urinating, then start collecting the specimen) filling the pot up to 3/4 full. Empty the remaining volume of the bladder into the toilet.

3. Transfer urine into the sample tube.

Use the pipette to transfer urine from the cup into the urine sample tube. Squeeze the top bubble of the pipette to remove all the air. Place the pipette into the collected urine cup and release the pressure on the top of the pipette. This will draw urine into the pipette.

Move the full pipette into the urine sample tube and squeeze the top to release the urine into the tube. Repeat as needed to fill up to 10ml line.

4. Secure your sample.

Place the cap back onto the urine sample tube and twist it to seal the sample tightly. Place the tube into the biohazard bag with the absorbent pad, then seal the bag.

Fold the patient request form and place it with the biohazard bag back inside the test kit box.

Discard the pipette and urine collection cup.

Please do not fill above the 10ml line.

5. Package and ship the sample.

Place the test kit box into the pre-paid return envelope and return to the lab within 12 hours of collection. Please ONLY post on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Take your envelope to the Post Office to ensure the samples remain undamaged. Please note the tracking number (located under the barcode of the Tracked 24 label on your envelope).

Your samples will first be sent to our sample management partner and then securely shipped via medical courier to our partner lab.
