Can I buy a test for my child?

We offer tests for children, but recommend that you work with a practitioner experienced in working with children.

We're only able to offer testing for children who are working with a registered practitioner who is experienced in working with, and analysing results for, children.

Personalised support for children is safer and more effective

We ask parents of children (0-16 years) to work 1 to 1 with a practitioner for a few reasons.

Firstly, the reference ranges we use to interpret results are not necessarily valid for children.

Secondly, the advice you receive needs to be safe and easy for you to put into practice for you, and your child. The advice and options we use with adults may be less easy to implement with children.

It is best to have that advice in a 1 to 1 consultation, from a practitioner who specialises in children's health and testing.

Please note that our Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) Test is not suitable for use under 8 years of age.

Getting the right support for your child

This means that we're not able to provide a personalised plan for your child - it’s important to know this before buying a test.

While this does mean the additional cost of a consultation, the 1 to 1 support is essential for you to have effective, valuable and specific advice for your child.

We will provide a recommendation for an appropriate practitioner when your test results arrive.
